Why we need Wastewater Treatment System and How Does it Work?

Wastewater Treatment System and How Does it Work

Water, an essential commodity that one cannot put a price on is significantly growing sparse and hard to find. Ecologists are raising concerns and even industries are finding solutions to effectively treat their waste with lesser impact to the environment. With the recent data only stating that 21 major cities are poised to run out of groundwater in 2020, according to a 2018 report by government-run think tank NITI Aayog. Even the domestic sectors are opting for solutions to effectively treat their polluted water or recycle it efficiently.

Water – The Need of The Hour

What is wastewater?

When Effluents and Pollutants are released into the lake the water source becomes contaminated, it depletes the quality of water and impacts the aquatic life too.  Wastewater is water that is affected by human use either domestically, commercially and industriously There are many types of wastewater like yellow water, grey water, and black water this is the wastewater that drains out of the sinks, baths, toilets and into drains.

Wastewater Management

By treating wastewater one reduces the maximum impact to the environment caused by hazardous materials. The idea behind Wastewater Treatment is to treat the wastewater efficiently via various methods by removing all pollutants and release water that’s safe for the environment.

Recycled wastewater

The Recycled waste water after being effectively treated is reused to replenish the groundwater, surface water or can be used effectively in fields, agriculture or can be released into lakes.

Methods of Treating Wastewater

There are four effective methods employed in Waste Water Treatment Plant to treat water:

Primary Treatment

The wastewater will first collect in a tank where the solids will sink to the bottom and the liquids will float on top and pass through the next level

Secondary Treatment

The water in secondary stage will go through an in-depth process where it will be treated via bio-filtration using sand fillers, aeration by using air to treat waste water and increase the oxygen saturation in the chamber. In this method the water will be ready to let off safely to the environment.

Tertiary Treatment

The third and final treatment of water is to treat the water to a level where it can be re-usable for daily use like industrial purpose, commercial or to meet domestic needs. The third process is very important so that the water is free of any pathogens for re-use and consumption.

Conserving water and utilizing it properly is the need of the hour. There is a great risk of running into scare water situations or polluted water if proper measures are not taken now. We hope that this article helped you in understanding about water treatment and let us know if you need Water Treatment Solutions for your industry.
