Narrative Description |
The raw effluent from the pharma processing plant is collected into the collection sump. effluent from collection sump pumped to the oil skimmer. the oil & grease are removed in these units and collected in the drum. the effluent from the oil skimmer outlet flows to flash mixer-1 by gravity, where the lime solution is added. The neutralized effluent flows to the primary clarifier, where the quiescent condition is provided for settlement of settleable solids. The sludge settles in the bottom of the primary clarifiers and is taken to the sludge sump while the supernatant is subjected to the process.
The supernatant from the primary clarifier is taken to the aeration tank in which there are three compartments and three surface aerators are provided. In the aeration tank, biological degradation occurs in the presence of oxygen. The overflow of the aeration tank flows into the secondary clarifier. here the settled biomass is either recycled back into the aeration tank or the excess biomass can be taken in the sludge pump. the sludge from sludge sump is pumped to the filter press. the filter sludge is collected and stored in the storage area and the leachate is taken to aeration tank by gravity. The overflow from the clarifier is taken to the treated water sump. the treated effluent is pumped to pressure sand filter and it discharged. |
